Combinables Price Tracker

If crops are in the field combines in Ukraine will harvest it
The tanks will only run on a small percentage of the ground
The issue will be fuel to power the combine
But if the Russian army has fuel they will ensure the combined will have some at a price
If you haven’t paid for the crop that is left by a Ukrainian farmer then the gross margin for the Russian contractors who pay the army will still be good
IMHO if the Russians go into ukrain the land will get farmed
If Turkey stops ships coming out the Black Sea or the port facilities get damaged then getting wheat from there next year could be the issue

trade has continued in wars in the past
Even in the Napolionic wars England the France had grain trade despite the navies blockades

the days of grain under cutting the world price from the Black Sea are over

At these prices are we any better off than a few years ago or are the margins the same but the stakes just higher?
we were far better off last year selling wheat 207 and input cost a hell of alot less . l think wheat needs to be £250- £260 to be anywhere near that at todays prices of inputs.

I reckon theres a far bigger difference in % terms round the country based on locality /demand . Anyone looking at futures as a guide could easily be£10 -15 on the wrong side . jokingly a while ago in conversation with my tame merchant said ring me when its £7g a load for fw and he was on the phone yesterday saying its only a couple of quid away

Imagine operating a combine in the summer and a row of tanks suddenly come over the brow straight towards you......
