Combinables Price Tracker

It still beggars belief, that we must abide to a certain standard and yet end users can buy basically stuff potentially grown using products that are illegal to uk producers therefore potentially undercutting our ability to compete. Surely competitions law are being broken.

I hope you are not a member of the NFU because they got us into this

But there is no shortage atm so why not use home produce when you can. And help keep your local industry there for when you need them….
As I mentioned a few posts ago it would have been a merchant who asked for the option to supply UK or EU grain so the anger should be directed at the merchant as they facilitated this…

On the same basis, Scottish wheat S&D is a deficient so imports would be required each season….

Bit early to be like that. At no point have I said that. I said both countries operate to a good standard.
You said Germany had stricter standards. And then said polish standards were "just as good". So for a grain of an equivalent spec, you must think that polish grain is better than UK grain on the basis of it's assurance standards. I then suggested that if I had a polish qa inspection, that you'd then surely be happy with one of their stickers, if they have stickers, on my grain passports, if they use them.

Maybe you should stop digging my friend. Hole is big enough already for you to be lost in it! Hey ho.

I must have a look round the whisky manufacturers websites to see what is said about provenance of ingredients. How Scottish is Scotch.

But they don’t have red tractor equivalent, it’s purely statutory requirements. Like pretty much all EU countries. Think the only one that has it is France for some special stations where you actually get a wheat premium for special requirements

From a quality perspective they are more than acceptable and comply with the same standards UK growers operate to.

So you’re asking me if Polish qa will come audit you? I think you know the answer…

@Encal Has just shown that the UK grain industry could not care a dot about us but will buy where it is cheapest. They in effect are traitors and will destroy British agriculture.
What we need is a Tea Party incident!! A ship carrying foreing grain should be made an example off. @Abi Kay Here is your next target!!
For balance, do you use any imported feed material for your stock?

Im asking you if I did get a polish,EU, of global gap auditor to audit my farm, would you or your end users be obliged to accept it's assurance standards?

I think you know the answer....

I think they openly state there simply isn't enough grain grown in Scotland to meet their needs, and don't expect any governmental regulations re Scottish provenance, the distilling industry is far too important a revenue maker for the exchequer,on that point, about 30yrs ago,it was reckoned that an acre of malting barley, distilled into spirit was worth approx £25000 in tax revenue!!!,wonder what that figure is now?

The point is you operate outside their remit. But if you were audited then you’d find the process very similar to RT. For balance I’m not saying RT are perfect but it’s what we have currently.

Speaking from personal experience, additional traceability is carried out to ensure what is imported meets all requirements.

Trying to provide some information but blaming folk is always better from what I can see.

You have provided information. And for that I and I take it the posters who have replied and engaged with you are thankful. They just happen it appears to disagree with the position taken by the purchasers and that is not 'blaming' but a different viewpoint and opinion. That is all.
