Combine knife

Snapped mine this evening, will get a new one in the morning, but can I weld the old one up to keep as a spare or will welding completely knacker it?

Its only a length of flat bar ,aslong as you dont cut anything out else you will loose a tooth fixing point ,V it out ,butt it together and glue it up ,,you've nothing to loose as its already broken

Welded ours loads, does for a spare. Kept snapping at the drive end so we weld the broken bit(s) on the other end. Think the metal can get tired over time.

Did mine and it lasted for years, v out and weld, then weld the knife section to the next one ( mine had broken at a bolt hole ) then as it was close to the knife drive I welded the knife section along the back as well. Figured if the welded section broke I'd just run a bit wide for the rest of the day :)
