Many are saying on his page post ,to catch them ,do viscious harm to them but all that would happen is the next gang would just get satisfaction from destroying everything on their farm ,sheds would get burnt down ,livestock harmed and human life put at risc

To one who received an "informal caution " from the village constable as a result of offering to donate a set of stocks to the Parish Council chairman, it seems that society gets what it deserves. Until we show such low-life our true feelings, in the absence of corrective parental guidance or educational discipline, I fear no improvement is in prospect.

Dirty scum will breed, and breed, and breed. In 100 years time, throwing your litter out of the window, and spitting in the street will just be the norm. Well all know it - police wont touch pikeys.

If I remember correctly the Environment Agency employed the services of a security company made up of ex members of Special Forces when salmon poaching was at it's height.
Maybe that is what is needed to demonstrate the error of their ways to the scum that are doing this.

soon wonder if insurance companies will only cover machinery if its in a locked shed ,as difficult and inconvenient it would be to tramp the harvester back home every time they will eventually stop paying out on anything thats left in a field

Better to park machinery in plain sight, not out of sight.
Some of those big farmer/contract farmer types dont make themselves popular with the locals particularly where jobs have been lost, its a wonder its not more common.

The thread should say theft , not vandalism as clearly someone went to steal the fuel , two combines would take a fair few cans to empty more like an IBC , the window was most likely broken to gain access to the cab and steal the radio , CB , tools etc .

There is big difference from petty minded vandalism that would maybe come from the situation glasshouse mentions and organised theft that this clearly was , the results are the similar but one is opportunist the other is equipped and organised

A multi- agency approach: police, local authority, social services, inland revenue, vat, vehicle examiners, customs & excise, Tv licensing, could seriously disrupt what I suspect is a serious problem to many of us, for which the combined cost to us is enormous, and for which we have all already paid the costs of the above enquiry teams. Just make them explain why it remains a problem. It seems likely that we just don't ask enough questions ,and accept poor 'political -correct' excuses.

Just needs some well located ANPR cctv cameras - police could do them for *something* if they even bothered to investigate.

A long time ago when i lived in the centre of a major city a housemate got his car broken into we rang the police and there first question was can you not park somwhere else ffs police are a waste of time

The anger, nay rage, that rises when repeated theft, vandalism, or trespass occurs, is perfectly understandable and natural. The immense disappointment at the apparent lack of polices action is also perfectly understandable.

Unfortunately, taking matters into ones own hands without considering the possible consequences can lead to one getting on the wrong side of the law and the British legal system. As one who has done that, got the mug, heavy financial penalty, and the police caution to prove it; I can gladly advise to take a very deep breath and get your heads together and form a think-tank, to plan a way of resolving the problem and protecting your property, land, and livelihood.

As for police cautions, unlike criminal convictions, they never expire and stay with you for the rest of your life!

If you form your think tank, remember this..................night hawkers, lampers, hare coursers, thieves and vandals are all creatures of habit and will more than probably be returning. to the scenes of their crimes; or visiting very similar scenes.

Stay safe, stay well, and above all , don't do as I once did! :(

Chris :)
