Combining TB and MRSA - a "prevention" for TB?

@matthew Could you sanity check this for me. Someone has been funded to combine TB [very good at hiding itself from immune responses] with MRSA [not terribly responsive to drugs] to wake up the immune system and fight back. This surely has to be a level 4 biosecurity hazard. and generally a seriously bad idea?

I think there is something I don't know, please can you explain?

My immediate reaction is that it was April 1st.

Both MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.) and m.bovis (Extensively drug resistant TB (XDR TB) or the multi drug resistant type (MDR TB) ) already have drug resistance, so combining the two in a GM cocktail...

This is work for a cattle vaccine, but other countries which have a known wildlife reservoir of m.bovis up spilling into other mammals, do something about it. Thus no need for a £0.24m spend at all. :banghead:

I've asked some questions.
