Commons areas for BPS

On our local commons the area used for payment calculations changed over the Christmas period.
Those affected who were paid before Christmas appear to have had their area allocation as expected,
Something changed over the holiday period, and large areas were taken out of the calculation, meaning
those paid after recieved much less than expected.
The question is, was it just Dartmoor, or has the whole country been affected by this

No idea ..... but there must be somebody with a bit of knowledge......
Going by local experience, very very few farmers actually check the RPA's work. It takes considerable
amount of persistance to get beyond the 2 stock answers
first you get told to send in a RLE1,
If that dont stop you they roll out the Payment Query form. both of which are likely to gather dust
untill the will to live is lost.
Seems very difficult to convince them that you are only trying to be helpfull.
Of course i may be wrong, and 1300 hcts have been wiped off the face of the earth during the holiday

Are the NFU involved. Or does any of the other applicants use an on-the-ball agent.

And if all else fails, submit a formal 'Freedom of Information' request to ask how the decision to reduce payments etc. was made

Common up here was reduced to less then a tenth of its original size, they had to get an agent involved to get it sorted. Seemingly the RPA mistook heather for rock and therefore ungrazable.

payment calculations changed over the Christmas period.

We were paid the 2017 BPS on 23rd December, but the commons payment calculation was 27% short.

Our BPS Payment Query Form for this got to the RPA early in January.

Currently, I'm told, it is being "processed" but no actual timescale can yet be estimated for how long this might take.

I am getting used to being ignored,, currently waiting on solicitors re an injunction,
the post office on why the postman continues to trespass, the IPCC on a complaint
and an insurance co on wether they will fund an appeal.
Everything is a steep learning curve

We're also waiting upon resolution of a BPS Payment Query for non SDA, where we're only 5.75% short.

At least it's quite easy to see exactly what's gone wrong with that one and to steer the discussion with the RPA in an appropriate direction.

The commons problem's very much more tricky because of the shortage of published data.

I is confused,, our two commons are CL 194, CL 164
the ones listed in previous post dont correspond
CL0164 HARDHEAD DOWNS AND CARBURROW TOR 127.74 127.46 127.74 117.09 0 -10.38
CL0194 HIGH MOOR 592.13 591.35 592.13 555.58 0 -35.77
unless the 0 is a part of the number?
I would urge anybody with common rights to get the signatory , usually the ch or sec to check the current maps on RPA..
looking further, it seems that many commons use the same CL numbers
