I have a compair c17 road compressor with a Deutz F2L. It won't start, it just cuts dead the dash lights when trying to start it. Any ideas where to start looking? I suspect it's a sensor but not sure which one and where? TIA
Not familiar with the compressor, but your symptoms sound electrical to me. Dash lights going off when attempting to crank engine indicates all power available is being drawn by the starter, which points at not enough power as bad connection / bad earth etc or flat battery. That or the engine is locked solid, which unlikely if it was running fine before.
Try putting power directly to starter, if it cranks over its electrical issue.
Has it got an isolation switch? Seen few of them go bad, try by-passing it
