Hello All,

Always enjoy going to watch Match plowing and wonder how you get into it?

I have got a birthday coming up and wandered whether anyone knew anywhere you could spend a couple of hours with a teacher and their vintage tractor to learn. Is there such a place that runs lessons / paid experiences?

Hopefully its in the South of England.

Please drop a name if anyone knows.

Thanks

Roy Stokes from Tong Norton certainly used to give lessons/instruction for a fee. Based in Shropshire on some of their lovely sand.
I attended one when I first started out, it was a gift from a then girlfriend. A fun day out.

Taught her how to plough, she was actually getting pretty good, we all called her +20 as she always seemed to get plus twenty points, we put it down to her natural good looks and assets. We all joked we'd turn up wearing a blonde wig and fake boobies to get better scores!
She's still about although not my girlfriend any more but keeping well!!

Did she have lessons from Roy? He certainly cultivated the impression of being a lady’s man.

What "Roy who never makes it through to Sunday's plough off??!!!" Yes we both popped up there, didn't have a clue what we were doing, nor did Roy as our ploughs weren't blue!! Yes, he does have an appetite but prob best not mention as he's not here to defend himself! But we do have a lot of pee taking when we see him!
