What % maize grain is in the ration? Or are they on it Ad.lib? Hoping to start including it in the ration get more cover on dairy bred beast.

They are ad-lib on a hopper, 20% maize inclusion

Yep. They say you don't need to as it includes the chopped straw so a complete feed but I find they do better with either dry silage or nice wheat straw available to them.

They are only 25mins away by tractor so I fetch it by tractor/trailer.

Mate tried it, wasn’t very nice by the end of the week. Have to be using serious amounts to keep it fresh he reckoned

I’ve used a fair bit of it a few years ago debatable what’s in it the dearest cattle I’ve had to sell were fed on it they did well seemed to go through a lot of it which goes back to my first statement
