Concrete Slab making it look nice

Got a concrete slab by the side of holiday cottage. It looks a bit old but generally fine apart from a little bit of cracking but hell it looks dowdy.

Was thinking of patio slabbing it as a new pour concrete would need to be too thick. Any other ideas? Just want to make a bit more appealing place to sit out etc. I could do decorative stone but then will just have constant battle with weeds but its an option

Ah good idea. How good is terram for not allowing weed build up?
Very.

I put a Rhododendron and Azalea bed in about 10 years ago using Terram and decorative bark, still weed free...ish. Any of the weeds that have shown up actually grew in the bark and have not come up through the terram.

Its gonna be Sandstone.

I've looked at all the options and concrete slabs will be ok but the nicest ones are as dear as sandstone and sandstone will age better
Get the calibrated slabs ,,they are all the same thickness ,,theres lots of laying patterns online as its a nightmare trying to 5 sizes with out a plan.
Use a full cover of mortar with some SBR compound mixed in and brush the back of the slabs with a watered down mix ,,makes them stick .
If you can get hold of it ,use Nexus V70 jointing grout ,,its a doddle to use and no stains on the sandstone

Mate had his drive done with concrete.
It was coloured a sort of yellowish, not sure if it was added to the mix or power spread on top, and they rolled it with a patterned roller to give a crazy paved sort of finish.
Looks really well and certainly something I'd consider.
