Concreting cubicles

I'm in the process of concreting some old earth bed cubicles. The problem I have is that the new concrete will taper to a point against the old heel stone, will it bind?, is there a product out there that will? Or do i just cut out and remove the old concrete?

Why will it taper , how high is your heel stone currently?

I did some cubicles that fell the wrong way using limestone dust mixed with cement, they were fine because we used mattresses on top of them,in fact using sand would have worked.
