I don't know either.
Bit like when you where called evil because you said you would kill unviable pet lambs, but people are happy to send them 10 weeks later for killing.

Good pet lambs, if I thought they would be ready in 10 weeks I'd save them all! I don't think I have much choice though!

Halfway through lambing. All going well
Actually enjoying not being on here as much - trying to not have my phone in my hand so much.. does the world of good.
Did 'escape' for half an hour today up to next door - stole all the clay troughs before the forestry ploughs smashes them. barstewards have broken over 100acres of grass since Monday

One or both of us is misunderstanding the other here.
Been stated several times that people don't agree with deliberately sending heavily in lamb ewes to slaughter.

@neilo can't remember if it was you or someone else telling me I had to cull all my pure Texels after last lambing because of the Entropion issue in the ones I bought inlamb at Longtown?...
Well those Pures have lambed this year to my homebred/own breeding ram and not 1 case of Entropion in any lamb (oldest are a month old, most are 2 weeks old)

I'm not trying to trip anyone up, just trying to understand the thought process. I never specified full term anything and neither did the original post that started the discussion.

Good chance what's in lamb at this time of year is close to full term. Probably why they put the reminder up.

Thinking about it, it's not the same as in humans, humans only have one line but animals have two lines, the 'when are the foetuses too developed to be killed' line, and the 'when are the lambs old enough that we can kill them' line. There appears to be a bracket somewhere between half developed foetus and immature adult that it's unacceptable to kill livestock. anytime else is good though.

Looks how i imagine some off to calve a cow in a dark shed and skitter at 3 in the morning!
That's @livestock 1 - he did that part time between building the Pyramids and digging out the Suez canal by hand and nipping back home calving AYR.
He was 15 in that picture.
