Took pity on this mud crusted hairy Romney and gave her a jakoti trim . When she lambs , they’ll have more of a chance !

Once , used to be twice , but will now look to cross them with something to tighten up the fleeces . Fed up with belly wool , top knots etc !
I thought of using the Logie that the Ingrams breed up in Aberdeen. Hopefully keep the maternal instincts intact !🤷‍♂️👍
We’ve been using them for on the low ground, got up to 2shears lambing now. I have the bright ideas, brother finds all the faults. This is one breed that he still actually likes. Not too big, good mothers and plenty of milk. And quieter than the cheviots that they’re bred from

I had a year like that and it drove me nuts.Ewes would reject one or both lambs after spraying the numbers on.I stopped doing it after that.Done a few this year though with the weather and all.
This was a ewe lamb, battered the f**k out of it for a hour and then we had a civilised discussion 🤐. she ran around the pen all night and then settled down and mothered it properly again. Thankfully she's been the only one or I'd have significantly less sheep than I started lambing with. Nothing winds me up more than a ewe that won't look after her own lambs

Bit worried about mine. Got 350 on turnips look very much like that. Still 5/6 days eating left before they have to be set stocked. Grass parks aren’t much drier though 🙈
Mine are due from the 10, and would normally put them on the lambing fields a week before, and that lets the plough in to the stubble fields . They’ll be on the grass on the 10 th at this rate !🤦‍♂️
