Confessions of the Sheep/Beef Cattle/Pig Addicts

That is just a race to the bottom. 7000 to one labour unit I can just see that experiment crash and burn.
It's entirely the wrong direction to be heading. Just makes it look we are inefficient which we are not. This is a completely different situation to Australia. How long will it take to check each one daily as is the (rightly so) welfare requirement in this country with one labour unit? Suggestions like that want laughing out of court

It would be nice to be on the other side of the petrol bombs šŸ”„
I noticed at the shell garage today thereā€™s signs up saying thereā€™s a government order which prohibits environmental activists protesting on petrol stations and they can go straight to prison for itā€¦ but no mention of farmers protesting šŸ‘€šŸŖ§šŸŖ§šŸŖ§šŸŖ§

Right genetics and infrastructure they don't need checking every day. It's not a legal requirement either.

Put them in a single mob, move them daily and you'll see any problems.

If I had all my sheep in 1 mob and moved them daily Iā€™d need my own wagon and a f**k load of diesel šŸ˜ Iv got 7 batches of sheep currently in 6 villages and 3 countyā€™s

But it is a Welfare codes. They arenā€™t law, but if you donā€™t follow them it can be used as evidence in court if youā€™re prosecuted for causing unnecessary suffering to livestock.

The right place doesnā€™t exsist šŸ˜‚ this isnā€™t Australia, we donā€™t have 10000 acre ā€œpaddocksā€ anything even remotely like that is prime arable land not hill billy sheep farmer land

Got up to 2100 stores in a single mob on daily moves in 2021.

Generally have all my ewes in a single mob (except tupping and lambing).

I'll find the right place eventually, even if it means I have to work with several neighbouring landowners and walk stock between blocks.
