Here’s another question for you guys. See what sort of caveman cooking responses I get

Picking up a lamb from a friend today. I’ve never cooked lamb before. So what’s your favourite recipes and ways to cook specific cuts?

The idea of mint sauce makes me shudder but I’ve never actually had mint sauce. Just as a heads up.

Cordon Bleu @Mc115reed will be along in a minute to tell you how to do it in an air fryer - he's the resident thread Masterchef since he went all self catering in that lambing caravan 🍖🥩🍷

Keep it simple, roast the joints, fry the cutlets. Any diced make a curry. Boil the head!

Lamb shanks are always amazing slow cooked. Particularly in a sauce with cannellini or flageolet beans. Trim excess fat off first or sauce will be very fatty. Breast of lamb (think brisket and flank) has a great sweet, flavour. I like to barbecue it opened out but it’s also good boned, rolled and slow roasted. Some lemon juice (or mint sauce) cuts through the fattiness of lamb really well

You can't go wrong. Roast leg with roast tatties, leeks and parsnips. Grilled chops with chips and peas. Slow roast the shoulder bone-in, meat will just pull off, put it in pitta or flat breads with roast veg and your choice of condiments. Lamb (or even better mutton) burgers better than beef.

The slaughterhouse we use make all sorts of burgers. If you want lamb burgers you’ve got to order them the week before!

Aghhhhh I wish you’d posted this yesterday, I did roasted veg, lamb shoulder and a carrot and sweede mash yesterday with a lovely onion gravy 🥰 the gravy was out of the kettle with onions from the roast shoulder and juices poured out of the air fryer 🥵 followed by rice pudding for desert
