What did you think of the trade today ?

I was only there for the lowland section at the end. Shearlings weren’t out of the way. Real strong sorts 150-160, Suffolk cheviots 195. The first two pens of the ones I bought were 155 & 152. Main difference to my pen at 128 would be that I’ve a couple showing a bit to strong to the Cheviot in mine. Bottom draw shearlings 100-110 Good older ewes were good money, poorer sorts £5 above cull value.
Ewe lambs were just something else. Few bigger lambs (small tuppers/stronger runners high £130’s, then next draw down 130-134. Badly bred smaller sorts 90-115, they looked hellish dear

There's so many types of welsh mountain sheep it makes cheviots sound straightforward. There is a different type for every region of Wales and some of those regions aren't that far apart either but different type of sheep.
That's without all the different coloured variation ones as well.
