We were all having a bit of a josh last week over some puff, snort or eccy’s

Today Mrs Bob came home from her job as a secondary teacher in tears and told me this.
One of her 4th year pupils whom she get on really well with, and had taught since he started high school, left school last Friday as he had turned 16 last Wednesday. He had just been given an apprenticeship with a good engineering firm in the town. He was a good pupil from a decent hard working family. Not an A grade learner but a worker and had good results in his Nat5 exams in the summer. The apprenticeship was his dream start. She said he was bouncing last week when she signed his leavers form and his school shirt.
Sadly one of his “pals” gave him a tablet of some sort to celebrate leaving school. He took it in his bedroom on Saturday night, and was found at 7 am on Sundayby his 13 year old brother dead in his bed.
A totally tragic waste of a life . A young lad about to embark on his dream and a family destroyed.
With 2 daughters in their mid teens it really scares me how easy a life can be snuffed out nowadays. We can’t be too careful.

Apologies for such a sad post.

I’ve always been a bit cavileer about life but I do worry about my kids. Especially the way the world is now with everything being scrutinised on social media and so forth. Very sad
Like wise dying never bothers me , being unable to live life to its fullest always has . The pressure on children today is so much more than when I was a child , kids grow up to fast nowadays

Absolutely. Social media can be a very dangerous tool in some kids hands.

It can be great fir the likes of us, many of us working on our own everyday, just being able to be in contact with others makes my day sometimes .
But when I see some of the sh1t that comes to my daughters through their phones, I regularly feel like throwing them away.
