Mrs Anymule says if I don’t stop swearing about the bone idle little fat Scotsman on This farming life she’s going to ban me watching it 😁
“They can be lambing up to 8 a day” 🤦🏻‍♂️ f**k me sideways if we’re doing less than 40 a day we’re standing around waiting for something to do 🤷🏻🤦🏻‍♂️
He’s one of my mates , so go easy Mr Mule Sir !

The loss of someone you worked with can hit you hard
i wish him well on his farming decisions.

This struck a chord with me. I miss my dad every day but even more so at lambing time. Its just not the same when you can't share the disasters and (occasional) triumphs with your mentor. I hate that he isn't here but keeping the sheep going feels like it keeps some sort of link intact.

I don't watch telly so don't know who your talking about but lambing over 5 months is harder than doing it in one go. You don't have a lot to do most of the time but it's non bloody stop getting up early and going to late checking them. It's bloody relentless.
We used to lamb 50-100 at Christmas, then about 150-200 in February and 5-700 in March depending on the year and 100-200 ewe lambs in April but numbers depended on what had lambed when. There were always some that went in between that didn't take when they were meant to and would be between batches so you'd still have to check in between.
I'd do most of it myself dad did check sometimes but couldn't do much with his hip he'd sometimes have to come and get me so I'd end up doing it anyway.
If I was going to be lambing for 5 months again I'd want a proper break in the middle it was a bloody miserable experience. Lamb everything in one go in April and early May outside now it's much easier.
