Any of you metabolic profile your cows before they calve?
Did some the other day, vet rang said we are low in protein an the minerals need more mag in them.

Was a bit surprised with the mag as both types I have are top end but both contain 10% mag in them.SAC lass said they need 20%-30%

As for the protein I thought I was quite generous to my cows.1kg of barley/biscuit a day an 1 litre of molasses plus add lib average silage( not sure what it is haven't tested it). Cows are just right for calving I'd say 2.5 -3.5 bsc.

No but when we brought them in here and they were calving we had a few that were obviously short of minerals even though they had powdered mineral outside they are still going through it like mad now for whatever reason
