The flight isn't a problem. It's the visa issue I'm currently struggling to overcome.Looking for a cheap flight?
Where's that? Some shed this , 500 ewes, under floor scrapers and robot feeder 🫣
I don’t know I really like the idea but the thought of slurry regs scares me. At the moment everything is straw bedded and it’s easier
And bed up quick with straw if you get an inspection?Apparently, our lot in Wales, have decreed that everything under slats is to be treated as slurry, so needs a bunded concrete floor under them.
Or just carry on quietly...
That’s the set up that dreams are made ofChap down this way does thousands on slats with auto feeders. Hoppers and centreless augers.
In nz the clipping sheds were slats above then a holding pen below. Not sure if anyone ever mucked them out or if it just dried out.Apparently, our lot in Wales, have decreed that everything under slats is to be treated as slurry, so needs a bunded concrete floor under them.

That's what I had planned for the disused calving shed here.Chap down this way does thousands on slats with auto feeders. Hoppers and centreless augers.
You could almost be guaranteed £200 for the ewe lambs at St Boswells in September if they are a decent size @Top Tip.
Has anyone on here ever done anything with sheep slats?
Earth floor with removable slats that you can muck out with the forklift or is a shuttered tank worth the extra expense?
Just mulling over a few options at the moment for trying to get in-bye ewes off grass for a few months through the winter without putting in any more forage crop
So what's your theory for having the cattle outwintered and the sheep in. Wouldn't the logical thing be to finish your cattle inside and have the sheep out on root crops and hoppers if need be?That's what I had planned for the disused calving shed here.
But apparently it's going to be used to store arable compost instead...
Ooyahoorsir,, because they'll steal the eyes right oot o yer heid neebur.Go on….
Sheep generally emptied out before they go in shearing sheds so not much shite under gratings . They do get cleaned out now and again though , there’s companies so it with big vacuum cleaners .In nz the clipping sheds were slats above then a holding pen below. Not sure if anyone ever mucked them out or if it just dried out.
