Perhaps @Simon Keeling can give his views on the conflicting hot weather forecast for around mid August?
The attached screenshot off of GB news , conflicts with Met Office longer range forecast.

The outlook changes every few days. Over the last 5 days the 10 day forecast from this week has gone from Showers; wall to wall sunshine; and now showers again. Now looking 3 dry days, then showery.
Honestly hardly worth looking anymore

Sorry, only just saw this. Well August usually has some hot weather :)

Models frequently output temperature extremes a week or so in advance, problem is these then get picked up on by those looking for 'clicks' and then become headline news.

Add that to the fact that weather can no longer be 'weather' and has to somehow be linked to climate-change and the headlines like these hit the presses.

Problem is of course that for farmers it's a matter of financial survival, whereas for most others it's just a case of whether to hang out the washing or not.

Makes me mad, but that's why we keep it all nice and balanced at Weatherweb :)

Regards,
Simon

My Grandad would always the current weather pattern will change when we get the New moon - we have all seen this happen, many times. Not many more days to wait.
He would always quote if we had rain on St Swithuns Day we would have a difficult (wet) harvest, yet today this is caused by global warming? He was born before the 1st World War.

Scientists knew what was driving anthropogenic climate change from the mid C19th onwards. Lobbying and vested interest by Big Fossil Fuels has a lot to answer for.
