Connecting to mains cost

Our rented farm has no mains water just two separate private supplies. The one which supplies the house is low pressure and continually causes problems with boiler etc. Village at bottom of road is on mains . Presumably if I were to dig a new pipe from the house to village I would only need to pay a connection charge or something. Anybody any idea what it would cost?

Can’t you use a booster pump for the house, it’s what we have here. Spring is marginally higher than the input pipe of the booster pump in an outbuilding. Feed pipe is a large bore pipe though.

We paid £800 to NI Water for a connection. We dug from our boundary to the house and left enough pipe for them to get to the far side of the road where the main is. They supplied the meter box, its concrete surround and the grass seed for the verge. They would've supplied enough pipe to cross the road if we hadn't left enough for them.

We paid 1400 to Yorkshire water to connect up the house. The two lads spent more time drinking tea than working and it took until lunchtime to do the job. Minimum charge apparently.
