I think with building costs and planning difficulties, they are pinning hopes on converting existing buildings.

That’s interesting, I have seen adverts about for converting old buildings, new builds must have become unviable. Even pre covid they only seemed to stack up financially if the farmer was prepared to take his payment in pig muck for a decade or so?

Trying to increase production levels when your customer won’t pay the full cost of producing the pig does strike me as a bizarre business strategy!

Sadly true, there won't be many independant pig producers left in a few years when you and I hang up our movement boards
