Have an old tin roof over our parlour, sound but needs painting. What would you recommend to use? Bitumen or a black oxide paint or other?

even after good cleaning and drying had rust coming through by next day with rustoleum noxide paint, couldnt find out what ingredients in it, is high zinc primer paint the best bet to stop rust

Best would be sandblasting followed with some ridiculously expensive paint that would be more than new steel roofing. Zinc would be best for typical pressure washing preparation. Aluminum is nearly as good and much cheaper. You'll know it has zinc by the weight of the can. It's easy to spend more then the roof is worth, unless the roof is steep or complicated, new roofing is cheap and easy.
