52k miles would not be 'average'.

OP; I seem to recall a few years ago being told that cars cost 50p/mile. I'd say a bit more now, based on inflation.

Depreciation
Scheduled servicing and maintenance
Non scheduled repair
Tyre wear
Insurance
Fuel

Depending on age and mileage I'd say £1 a mile is not far out. Could well be more!

Insurance for 3 yrs say £800/yr = £2400
Fuel? 24,000 miles @ 30(?)mpg = 800 gal, or £4,700 (£1.30/l)
Maintenance, repairs ? £1500 ?
That's £19,000 for 24,000 miles and not all the costs noted.

I’m the same for my Ford Fiesta Van.

It’s a wee bit more for the Iveco Daily, but the Fiesta means I use it a lot less.

Mine costs about 2000 a year including insurance for around 8000 miles. Have to add initial cost which would be around another thousand of dep per year

some times pays not to sit down and work amounts out fully
all you have to do is look how much people think tractors are with a hour. to run
think on it 60 mile a hour . maybe 60 pound a hour you can hire a small boy with a tractor for. less ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ours is awful on fuel. Low 20s mpg. I generally take the fiesta van too.

My pickup isn’t very good on fuel either. Saying that since the beginning of August when I got it it’s only done 500 miles so I don’t worry about it.

My 2011 Toyota double cab costs me 23p/mile in fuel on local work (with diesel at £1.34/l)
Long hauls she is better
With a trailer shes worse
