Common theme developing on BBC these days. Same on R4 the other day with their environment correspondent blaming land drainage for flash flooding. Nothing to do with building countless Legoland housing estates and soul-less distribution parks on the flood plains of Northamptonshire then

So can we clean the rivers ourselves then? Doesn't look like ea will. How can't that bit of concrete cost £17m?
Clipboard muppet telling us how not to flood? Do me a fecking favour, if the rivers that our dykes drain into we're capable of doing their job, the problem would be a tenth of what it is. 'we can tell the farmers what to do' patronising twot....

Drive past a lot of new housing developements and the rivers natural level is higher then the bedroom windows,of the houses built on the flood plain, then instead of having 20 acre of land to absorb the water there is 20 acre of roofs and concrete flushing it straight down the drain, which raises the river level and floods the flood plain/housing development

I forgot to mention the 'Unlimited fine' I was also threatened with along with being told that the CCW 'owned' 1 metre of my land from the waters edge!

Turned out it was scaremongering and rubbish!
