I watched this weeks Countryfile programme and was left feeling a bit saddened .
The article was about a dairy farmer and his partner in Wales who have lost everything due to the negligence of the department that tests for the Bovine disease .
Because a mistake was made the farmer and his wife had to watch whilst the authorities turned up en- masse and dispatched all of their stock there and then in front of them. The farmer concerned was firm in his belief that all of his stock were healthy.
The result was that this farmer was now technically black listed,he had to sell equipment, and live very basically, and look for other work just to survive.
This farmer like many others had put a huge amount of time ,money, and faith in his farm, and he has been grossly let down.
It turns out that a mistake had been made in the actual testing, therefore the diagnosis was wrong ,so the destruction of his herd and family was wrongly carried out.
Yet the buck was passed as usual from the government departments who corruptly distanced themselves from the issue and the family.
Surely that farmer and his family should by default be compensated for all of his losses, including his family life ones.
I hope someone somewhere can help him get back what is rightfully owed.
