What’s people’s thoughts on getting the cover crop drilled than mole draining
Drainage rotation is 3 years behind because ground at depth was to dry to form moles now we have had a wet winter and hopefully enough rain to get to depth i would like to mole more ground this year but I am planning to put a catch crop in
So do i mole then drill and lose a couple of weeks of crop growth or drill and then mole through the catch crop
Thanks in advance

Drill your cover first, you'll be surprised how little is uprooted by the moling...unless you have a lot of wheel/track slip. We did some a couple of weeks ago, you can now only see the slots.
It's well worth digging down to check the clay is making a decent mole though, we gave up under a four year ley we were terminating as there wasn't enough moisture at depth to form a mole that would last
