Covid jab - is it compulsory?

What are the rules concerning covid jab? Is it compulsory?
I have fear of needles
With the mutation of virus it looks like having vaccine will be regular occurrence , sooner
or later I believe things will go wrong

It's not compulsory. I don't like needles either but the ones they use are so fine and sharp you barely feel it. It's not like wiping down ol' trusty rattled around in the quad bike glove box with the fencing pliers for 10 years and needs the weight of 2 men to drive it through the skin of a ewe. Look away, talk about something and it's like being lightly brushed by a bramble. If you tell them you don't like needles when you arrive you'll get extra fuss and support, you can lie down afterwards if you like. As the virus mutates the jab may need to be given yearly like the flu jab but no need to worry about that right now.

I don't like needles either and did think of refusing it. In fact, the procedure was quite funny with those of us in the queue having to move from one numbered square to the next so we'd stay in the correct order. The person in charge still got confused, then all change up to the next square. A sheep race, which I suggested, would have been far more efficient but they won't listen. :)

The injection really is painless, but as said above the trick is to think of something else if you're bothered.

After the vaccination I was advised to sit in the car for 15 minutes but after five thought of all the jobs waiting at home so just drove off. Only two miles and no problem. No after effects that I was aware of.

Yes, I do worry about the mutations as all it needs is an easily transmitted lethal variation and we will be in deep poo. It is the duty of everyone to get vaccinated and kill this bug off forever.

You'll be able to have a life- the virus may well disappear never to be seen again. SARS-CoV and MERs-CoV both did basically. Even ebola did.
Not sure about that! It's obviously not going to be the same virus in a years time that it was a year ago but it's not going anywhere imo.

This coronavirus won't mutate that wildly- even the new variants are not that different genetically. They are peculiar in that they are 'proof read' before transcription so the level of mutation in them is very very low.

It's not compulsory, same as the flu jab. However, I had it over Xmas and New Year, very mild for 5 days but then a sting in its tail left me floored for three days and with a blistering headache from hell. Couldn't eat anything or take tablets. I would not recommend getting it personally - better to have the jab. And, you could die.

And done ideally by someone that isn't a bedpan driver day to day and has done the mickey mouse course, You want it in the muscle & not too high up. That's when you'll get the sore arm etc.
