Cow deterant

Hi all,

We have a holiday cottage in the middle of nowhere with just a small patio and parking space fenced off. We would like to graze cattle on the surrounding land but don't want them congregating around the cottage (and the associated mess). And before any of you fencing it's 900 acres of rough grazing and would need a lot of fencing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You only need to fence a bit round the cottage though not the whole 900 acres?
I would agree but it's not quite that simple. The road that accesses the property is also a public footpath so that rules out an electric fence and if we fenced the another area around the house off we would have to put two gates in so as not to obstruct the footpath.

I was thinking perhaps someone knew of a gizmo that would discourage the cattle from standing and shitting outside the house, similar to the high pitch buzzing that only teenagers can hear which is used to stop them from congregating outside shops in urban areas.
