Just heard that last night the Mill at Crediton has gone up on flames, luckily no one hurt, but it sounds like the mill will be out of action for some time.

Will have a big impact on feed stocks I fear.

I had seen they had had a fire. I was wondering how severe it was, is' there anything left of the production lines?
Sad time for those affected.

Ive been told the centre of the fire was right in the middle of the main building and went right up through and took the roof out as well. Electrical fault possibly?

Over 70 fire fighters there last night.

Think my delivery next week is in doubt, just please no one was hurt!

That's going to have a big local effect , even up here (85 miles away by road)a lot of grain would go to them. They were very handy to take grain upto 16.5% (with a £1-2 adjustment of price) straight off combine or soon after as you could not dry/handle it for that so if they are out of action come harvest ,it will cause some people a lot of work or cost.

yes i have heard that they will be trying to use spare capacity in other mill to produce their product range. Sounds like a logistical challenge. we will have to give orders with plenty of notice to make their life easier.

The main thing that thankfully no one got injured in the fire.

It is the quieter time of year for most feed company's so most will have spare capacity and no doubt CMC will contract some of the work out to these company's to ensure they can meet orders.

Will be a good 4 months I would imagine before they can get that plant rebuilt and operational again.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
