Crop assurance scraping for failures

We have just failed crop assurance!
The reason was for the diesel tank.
We have a 5000l steel bunded tank with the pump and pip in a cabinet on the end apparently the pump pipes etc have to be in the main bund. As the cabinet is not capable of holding the 5000l if it leaked.
These tanks are still sold as being compliant with the current regulations.
You just wonder what the next nit pick will be.
Now expected to buy a new tank or build a bund.

Reading up on health & safety policy ahead of a F/A visit
Legislation said you don`t need one if less than 5 employees.
Yes you do, according to F/A man

Printed a standard one off just in case so got a tick.

Seems it`s very important to have a no smoking sign in the dairy. -- though no assesors have noticed for 14 years :scratchhead:
Some of the things they ask are just bloody ridiculous

This is one of the most annoying things about Red Tractor. Different inspectors, different interpretation of the rules, different bees in bonnets.
We all chuckle to ourselves after we've had an " easy " inspection with a pragmatic inspector, not so much chuckling after a " difficult " inspection with a pen pusher.

Red lives in a recently installed single skin 'water' tank here, on blockwork plinth inside block bund*, in lean to.
Pipe hangs above bunded area.
I'd had a new tank picked up, then saw it need a leccy pump to get fuel out....that went straight back.

(*and we did get around rendering the block wall after a year or three!)

No RT problems to date.

You have the National Farmers Union to thank for this increase in red tape for no gain

Surely you didn't actually "fail"?
Just a non conformance to be rectified within 4 weeks?
