From your experience What type of the above are best for getting onto very awkward/confine space nuts and will they take a lot of torque when trying to crack off that awkwardly place nut. Thanks
I’vea set of 3/8 crows foot. Maybe used them 3 times. But when needed they’ve done the job.
Don’t think you need worry about torque. You’ll snap the extension before the crows foot gives out
I bought a 3/8 set to do a job, actually just needed one size but thought they would come in useful. Took a while to arrive and and I had done the job albeit very slow and fiddly, before they turned up. They might get used one day.
I’ve a 3/8 set that’s hexagon with a cut out type that are very handy but had to have a 19mm open ended one for handbrake cable adjustment on tractors years ago and tripped over badly and boigh one out of Snap on van it’s a flipping good one though!! Cost more than the full Bergen set!!! Sure it was something like 4hrs overtime at the time!!!
I have a hexagon set of crows feet. I bought them to be slimer than the open ended style, however the one downside is that they only go on a nut in six positions. They aren't cranked like ordinary open ended spanners are, so they can't just be flipped to be like a twelve point when you can turn the fitting enough at a time.
I’ve a 3/8 set and 1/2” set they are both invaluable in certain situations, the 1/2” set go up to 50mm, have even used them as a flogging spanner when desperate measures arise.
Have got a snap on 3/8 set i bought s/h years ago and s cheap 1/2 set up to 50mm which are handy also I’ve a set of butterfly sockets which are handy if there’s room for them
