Got an injector fufing coming up the side of it ,,, what could be the problem ?

They will have a copper washer at the bottom to seal them against the head or a sleeve

Hopefully that’s all it is ….

Take it out clean it up put a new injector sleeve or copper washer in then tighten her up and away again

They don’t ail a lot like clean oil that’s about it really

It tells me when it needs clean oil by leaking black dirty oil , ifs shes on fresh oil dosnet leak it lol they aint the cleanest engines but fairly reliable id say.

Hellish good engine used in all sorts of applications. Capable of a lot more power than it will be during currently if it’s the engine I’m thinking of.

Yea I’ve been told they do over 400hp in trawler boats because it’s easy to cool them ….. in fastrac anything over 220 and run into cooling issues . I have mine at 210hp and they do me .. Ive a spare engine in the shed fortunately I’ve never needed it …… touch wood .

Yes that’s the same one. Lad that used to work at Cummins always said keep clean oil in them
Most engines are like that though.
As you say they usually start using a bit when the oil is knackered

Was one in a feed truck I was in in Canada, never seen an engine keep its oil so clean. Fan belt tensioner pulley gave up one day a couple of miles from home, tried to ease her back without boiling it, reversed into the shed and shut it down, walking out nearly jumped out of my skin when a wee clear plastic sight bung blew out of the expansion tank was like a gunshot. Got it all back together and it ran faultlessly

Was downrated to 210hp in the feed truck I think, but the boss had one in his dodge 2500 and I think that was nearer 300, or possibly more. Cracking unit

Used to be a 290 in wagons a 250 maybe and a 325 not sure if they were a bigger engine though
