So now Sterling is doing pretty well against other currencies. Another predicted disaster which hasn't happened and in fact the irony is that it hasn't been a disaster at all. It's been very good for the UK economy. What will they turn to next? Output? GDP? Whatever bad things they can find in the news I suppose. All the fault of Brexit, until the chart flips and then they will move onto the next thing. Just wishing for pain and suffering so they can be right.

When you are wrong, best to admit it and move on. It's fine. It's actually quite therapeutic and the funny thing is, nobody will mind at all. It's when you can't admit it that the problems start.

It's a double edged sword I guess. Being as we bought "our" factory in 1981, the family engineering company, which is now my brothers, has very low overheads. In the last 15 months, so many of his competitors, with more normal overheads, have gone to the wall, he is seeing something of a resurgence(y). Every cloud and all that.

I intend to get back to spending my time on a proper life than wasting any time on this pretend one. I will be giving myself a big kick up the arse if I am writing on here in 2024, never mind 2040:meh:
I know what you mean, but it's strangely addictive on here......

So how do you reckon that? Sterling has only recovered in the last couple of days due to higher than anticipated UK inflation figures prompting market speculation that interest rates will have to be hiked up sooner than expected. (y)

Well, this is the point isn't it? Most people don't know what's good and what's bad so if you are looking for bad news, you can just point at a number and shout 'BAD'.
