Depends on the size of hole, but a Brass hammer and brass punch should put a hole big enough for what you want

A good youtube vid by Cody, where he attempts to dissolve a hole in toughened glass with acid in an attempt not to shatter it. Spoiler: it doesn't work. Toughened glass gets its strength from being cooled in a specific way to create tension across the structure so it's constantly pulling itself together. Any damage to the structure results in the tension being released and the whole lot flying apart

have not watched the video but anyone attempting to use acid must have balls of steel. It requires Hydrofluoric acid, which is one of the nastiest chemicals on the planet

I once tried to cut a mounting hole for a windscreen wiper in a toughened glass windscreen . I carefully made a little cup/ reservoir out of plasticene , stuck it over where I needed the hole , filled it with water , and with a VERY slow speed drill and masonry bit , went to work . It all went wonderfully well until the drill was just pricking through, and then disaster , the whole lot shattered into a million little square pieces ! Moral of the story - don't be a tightarse . Cost me a new windscreen when all I was doing was trying to use a wiper motor that I already had , rather than buy the correct one

You could take it and have the hole cut with a water jet. It shouldn’t break it. Worth a call to a water jet company close to you to see if they have done it and have knowledge if it’ll stay in one piece.
