CX8080 combine losing power with low fuel tank

The combine starts producing errors such as "rail pressure gov" & *low fuel source" when fuel levels get down to 1/3 of a tank, it then loses power or as the driver says goes into limp home mode
As far as I know all fuel filters are changed at the start of the season and the fuel in the tank is clean

Any ideas what could be causing this ,

My MF was doing the same, mr rat had gone through a pipe. The pipe was not visible to the eye as it went through some box section. For us it was worse on hilly ground and some times would not start in the morning until it was bled. Replaced pipe with metal now, seems to have improved.

I had this problem. It turned out to be some of that biodiesel gunk in the strainer/separator mesh from the tank. It looked clean and I had cleaned it with petrol and a toothbrush but the fine mesh remained partially blocked which showed up at lower fuel tank levels and high power requirement. Only option was new strainer and problem was solved.

That's a possibility anyway. Other than that, a blocked filter or air getting in somewhere.

Double check the filters first, there is nothing to stop them blocking prematurely, remove and give a good shake out to see if anything other than clean fuel comes out.

We had fuel problems with our 8070 this season . It turned out to be some gunk in the fuel tap or line direct from the tank . We unscrewed the tap and line and made sure it was clear and then flushed about 10 litres out of the tank . This cured the problem . As long as there are two of you you can do this without losing much fuel . One of you unscrew the tap assembly from the tank and the other sticks their finger over the hole . :)
We had the same error showing as you have .
