Gnrh is the key to getting rid of the cyst. The cidir increases the chances of success. Don't burst them. It can cause scarring and they can come back anyway.

Some cows you just never get rid of the cyst no matter what you do. There is a fairly strong genetic component to chances of being cystic when it comes to health traits. So it's probably best to get rid of those chronic cystic cows unless you want more of them.

It's actually gone full circle and we are back to giving them a gentle squeeze and see what happens!

GnRH or LH are best, but then I do tend to drop them into a synch programme - if it's a follicular cyst then they generally need progesterone. GnRH on its own might get rid of the cyst, but it won't necessarily get you a cow to serve.
