Sold my shares yesterday. Argh.
They rose a fair bit in last few days after a reasonable trade update. Bit weird the did not announce discussions at that time......
Another UK processor being foreign owned.
Will Graham's be the biggest remaining UK processor or not?

There is plenty of history of huge companies doing this, it seems the only way to make money in the commodity game is with scale. No end of big companies with international names involved in many points of the supply chain sometimes. Associated British Foods for example own 50 brands/companies. Would not be surprised to see more international buy outs in future.

sorry for being lazy. We've a letter arrived today to do with some shares it appears we have in dairy crest do any of you guys know what if anything we need to do. I've not seen the letter as it's landed to dads

I'll have to have a look, dad didn't seem to understand what was going on with it
He won’t be the only one, much of it is in gobldygook that even a solicitor would struggle to understand.

Don’t think there are any options available, Saputo have made a cash offer and £6.20 a share is mentioned, not too sure how the valuation works as share price seems to be trading at a small premium over that, there is another thread on here and it has been mentioned that the price may be improved..

From previous experience in these situations there is not a lot you can do, it looks like Dairy Crest will be bought out by Saputo and we will have to surrender our shares at the price stated, quite possibly £6.20, we will have no negotiation in the price nor no option to keep the shares or have shares in Saputo if indeed they have shareholders.

For now you don’t have to do anything, you’re aware of what’s going on, assuming it all goes through more paperwork will follow, you will have to surrender your share certificate and will be paid out at the offer price.
