There's a particular area that's noted for it, if one puts up a big shed then the neighbour has to put up a new one with an extra bay on it and so on...

No and if I'd been going for a couple of years I would have been speaking to the bank manager!
Trouble is, at the time, no one was looking for extra milk except roddas who stipulated that it needed a new parlour and dairy, all year round calving or summer peak and needed to be jerseys on the rspca contract which I think put people off
Worked out well for me in the end though as I've got 50 acres in there for silage which is ideal

That’s a good farm and has been run by a very good farmer who is moving on up the ladder.

Most farms locally are Arla or Medina/Pensworth/Freshways.

There are also a few vending machines in the area, one farm based milk round and the farm I relief milk on supplies a fairly well known ice cream brand.
