David Brown Hydrashift Lever

I've had a rummage through my various books, and cant find it...

I am convinced that David Brown in their latter days, on 94's, offered a kit that moved the Hydrashift lever from the dash, to near the main gear lever.

Am I right, or am I losing it?

Think there was...was for when you fitted loader controls on the side console and hydra lever needed moving

The internals of the lever pictured are identical to that of the normal dash mountes one. The only addition is the black steel bracket mounted on the front of the lift console. The plate securing the cable to the gearbox needs another pair of holes in it to allow the cable to be mounted from the rear and fed back and up into the console, as opposed to the normal way of forwards and up into the dash via the bulkhead

Hamilton of Larkhall used to fit the hydrashift lever next to the main gear stick
I don't know whether it was a DB kit or whether I Hamiltons made it up themselves
They were inclined to modifications

Main thing if you modify the hydrashift lever position is that pushing the lever forwards goes UP a gear.
Wouldn't want engine braking in bouncy conditions to encourage drivers hand to change more than one ratio at once !

It can be made to go both ways. When mounted on the dash it works best with 4th at the back, 1st at the front. Pull back to go faster, same as throttle

mounted on the console, las you say, 4th is better at the front

ive got an idea for ours to make it better but it needs cab off so wont get it done anytime soon
