I am in to third season using dutch openers using 2.5" and 3/4" for beans, the 2.5" is no good for beans but had no problem with the 3/4" opener up to 330 kg/ha as long as beans are well cleaned if not pods can bridge between pip and seed boot .
Seed placement is ok as long as forward is reduced to 6-8 km/h

have just put in 300 acres of beans with 4 inch gen 400 coulters on yes I had blocked coulters but an acceptable number, agree 8 kph about optimum speed leveling board and rol behind needed for a good finish for the pre-em. Have cut the seed rate a bit this year aiming for 45-50 plants as they get to thick and lodge.
