Dealing with OSR tramline stubble

I was hoping that one of you experienced DDer could help me. I am moving towards Direct drilling. I have established a controlled traffic system and am currently min tilling. My issue is the OSR trampled down by the sprayer but not picked up by the combine. I am either using a sumo (when contrlled traffic not in operation) or a lemken Krystal to create seed bed. Either way the long OSR straw is dragged. It sits in tramlines so cannot be chopped. I know that I could gat a bladed rotavator but that seems like a hammer to crack a nut.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Robert

No help I'm afraid but this is the kind of place full ctf falls down as it could be solved by simply drilling at an angle to last years crop / tramlines

I guess a topper is your only option down tramlines

We put the combine header on the deck in the tramlines and rake at an angle in front of Claydon drill and don't get much trouble

Putting my header on the deck now and risking stones etc, sometimes rape is too tall so have to lift. This helps to an extent. Generally topper cannot go low enough. CTF so cannot go across tramlines. I am thinking of a topper or straw waffle driven down tramlines with a single (or 2) tine or blade longer than all the others to reach down into tramline. Will let you know if that works.

We are CTF and have a cutting disc in front of the subsoiler leg on our wheelway conditioning tool. Works a treat, trash just flows straight through.

what do you run up your wheel ways ? do you leave the sprayer tramlines untouched ? finding our spray tramlines are turning nicely into roads already here

....and use the same tramlines as you had last year.
I have found that cutting wheat stubble high and drilling at an angle to last year has dramatically reduced hairpinning and drill has gone brilliantly (just need rain!) but as you say above in brittle OSR stubble I would be happy drilling the same direction. This thread is another reason for me that CTF is not the way for me on this farm at this time. You need flexibility.
