The older one of my JD 3650 tractors seems to loose a lot of its power when the fuel tanks (main tank on nose and extra tank down by rear axle) are getting low.

I did change the fuel pulp some years ago. Did not help.
Filters all ok and lower tank was cleaned very well. It was taken out and cleaned well two years ago.

It has now some 8900 hrs on it. And the problem seems to be getting worse.
It is not breathing or consuming much engine oil.

It certainly feels like a fuel problem.
Could it maybe be that I should take the injection pump out for repair?

U sure ther isnt a hairline crack in the suction hose or the pipe inside the tank? The lower the fuel level the more suction needed to lift it and if thers a crack or split itl be affectin how much fuel gets thru

I'd replace the fuel hoses and fit a genuine lift pump. I personally think the sealed ones were actually the best. Does yours have the water separator on?? We binned those as they seemed to let air in. Is return fuel flowing back into the top tank at a good rate??

You might find it a job to get inj pump done, because I was told some of the parts are obsolete and unobtainable.
I would be happy to be contradicted...
