I wonder how the bean counters of JD haven't yet realised that farmers are more loyal to their dealers, than the colour of the tractor they sell !

They must lose market share everytime a dealer is taken over or lose their franchise.
The only logic I can see is they force merger after merger until FarolsBurgess are agents for the whole UK. Then they back them into a corner financially and they become JD UK with a whole network of new identical looking dealers premises.
They’ll then sell the product online and deliver to the nearest and use the depots for servicing etc.

There’s only one way that business will go now and that’s down, a new cost cutting manager will now try to make a name for himself and jobs will be lost, staff will get pee'd off and leave , a new brand will start up been sold by the same staff and will take out a lot of jd customers , customer service will be lost , the end result will be the Jd plan designed in America works on a map for the plains of America but will not work in this part of the world but Jd can’t see that yet . They did the same here in our area and now there are very few farmers buying new Jd tractors .

Do these people not realise that uk farming is Kaput, in its last throes due to civil servants / gov ministers clueless wokey ejits and do gooders, and no farmers will be left to buy new tractors?
while tractor sales are tiny compared to the 50s to 80s there’s still a fairly big number for a small area.

Think you’ll find they already own stakes in these big dealers anyway.

As was eluded to above none of us know how much of that family business actually belongs to the family and how much belongs to JD or do JD have hold of? Look at that photo above and look at the new building Ripon Farm Services are building in malton and some of the other brand new branches around the country they done all share the same JD signs, door mats, flags etc the buildings are all the same in design and style now that isn't a coincidence.

Local multi million pound jd super dealer, only sold one new combine last year, they do reasonably well with tractors but that's about it, the odd mower the odd baler and a sprinkling of bits and bobs.

Corporate branding, even down to the floor coverings are stipulated by the manufacturer nowadays
Look at any BMW or Audi dealer and they are all the same whether in Glasgow or Norwich
Doesn’t mean the manufacturer owns them
