Deleting Private Message Conversations

I thought I'd spend a few minutes tidying my private messages box out by deleting some of the older/no longer relevant exchanges. I'm probably missing something very obvious but how on earth do I achieve this, please?

Thanks and thanks for tagging Chris. I'll be be interested to see what he says.

It is only right that you can't delete them, the other party(s) in the conversation may not want them to be deleted.

What happens if everyone leaves the conversation?

Direct messages are only deleted once all parties have left the conversation. When the last person leaves it automatically gets deleted. That's how the system works, even moderators and admins can't delete conversations.

I fully appreciate that the chats are confidential to the participants.

@Christoph1945 I thought you might be interested in this thread.
