An all round tester (SDF ART) IIRC should do an M series but a dealer laptop would be better and tell you more. Find someone with either

No gearbox calibration on M series, only clutch is possible to calibrate.
On next generation (6160,6180 etc.) is possible to calibrate gearbox. If some gear changes are very harsh, trouble could be broken solenoid valve or clip which holds solenoid on place.

As long as its not harsh shifts should be alright, M to H always is a bit of a harsher shift, it's just the way the box works

If you ever get error code 18 come up, or the gears become delayed to Change, stop immediately, as mentioned there are clips holding in solenoids that can break and cause low transmission oil pressure.
