Been speaking to my agronomist about using DAP, just wondered if anyone has used it and if they had any yeild response ? its recommended to use on OSR as a autumn application, but also on spring barley. is it worth a try?
We have had no problems with it, it is cheaper than buying TSP and Urea separately and the phosphate is meant to be more available.
I doubt you would ever see any significant yield response by using it compared to any other product though.
we put 100 Kgs/Ha on with the seed in both winter wheat and spring barley which is our only P besides sludge .....Theres no doubt it was very noticeable where the bag ran out on the last Spring Barley field and my agronomist reckoned our DAP treated crops fared significantly better in the early dry spell than neighbours did without ....

Sure. There's nothing magic about it, but it does provide readily soluble phosphate which can help root growth. I doubt it will add much to final yield if your soil P levels are ok but you'll have a nice looking crop through the autumn/winter. 167 kg/ha gives 30 kg of N and 77 kg of N which is about the crop's offake of P.
Direct drillers like it down the spout or placed near to the seed for spring sown crops.
