I've been busy today .....this to norfolk police....more later:rolleyes:

Unfortunately this morning I've found more cause for complaint with the policing at the approach road to Norwich Livestock Market 17/10/20.

The situation was exacerbated this morning by a temporary set of traffic lights.....as I turned off the roundabout two officers were positioned on the left of the carriageway with a 'group' of unidentified individuals to the left. NOW this is important as I use the the term 'unidentified individuals' because they had no banners or placards indicating who they were....a member of the public would not know they were 'alleged vegan protesters'. Once off the roundabout the light ahead of me was red and i opted to stop at a distance for them to change rather than draw up to the lights next the 'vegans'....at this point a youngish 6ft white male detached himself from the 'unidentified group' and began running up the road towards me..... fearing confrontation I opt then to go foward to the lights and stopping remonstrate with the two inactive officers whose only response was to remind me I could not cross the red light and the 'unidentified group' had the 'right to protest'....my contention therefore was that this 'group' ,because they had no banners/placards, had no interest in legitimate protest and only intimidating law abiding road users putting them in dilemma as how to proceed safely without breaking the law and that your officers either fail to notice this or turned a blind eye to what I can only define as 'vegan ultras'

Carrying on to market the vegans near the market entrance had placards and thus I have no problem.....upon exiting the market i saw an individual mounting a camera on a tripod presumably with the intention of filming people as they left the market and the two officers engaged in conversation with two 'ultras'.....quite cross by this stage I decide to stop and remonstrate with your officers and decide to ask for their numbers PC xxx gave his number but continued to talk thus making it hard to take PC yyyy's number....this resulted in a momentary lapse in concentration and, fraction late checking my mirror, almost missed a grey van overtaking....this delighted PC yyyy who lost no time in getting animated...if only he'd had half the enthusiasm when I was being charged at by the white male mentioned earlier ....both officers are Earlham I believe.

Based then on my story I would like to make the following complaints

1/ That PCs xxx and yyyy didn't have the proper training to realise that a group of people with no banners/placards or other means of identification cannot constitute a protest and by default the group had other 'aims'....or worse the officers had no inclination to carry out their duties even handedly

2/ Based on my experience today I would like allege that Norfolk Police is acting in favour of the vegan 'protesters' and ignoring their attempts to intimidate market users

I would be grateful if we could push ahead with these to complaints.....further more might I seek your advice about who to contact/liase with as ,frustrated with the lack of consistency, I'm considering organising a counter protest to highlight that protests can be done peacefully \, highlight the vegan intimidation and educate your officers as to what a lawful protest should look like

I have tried to copy in Lorne Green and shall be contacting him to try and ascertain why law abiding people going about their business to pay their taxes should be subject to intimidation with the .in my view, closet endorsement of Norfolk Constabulary

I have no wish to make light of this serious matter, Spin, I'm behind you all the way on this - your Norfolk police seem about as much use as ours but I'm struggling to understand why you're trying to 'copy in' that bloke from Bonanza :scratchhead:
...........surely he popped his clogs ages ago:scratchhead:
