I thought you just chopped off the offending amount so they didn’t touch the face.

You will have to trim the tips off so they dont grow into his face but then you can buy horn training springs you just drill a hole through the horns and put the spring over the top of his head and it pushes the horns away from his head as they grow.

The lambs look a good size.
I've bought old Swale tups in the past that have had half dozen slices previously taken off their horns

IMO there's no doubt that IF there's grass in front of the ewes AND the weather isn't horrible lambing outside is easier and you get better lambs

thursday
could not get myself going :(....starting anything was an uphill task:rolleyes:.....i did get better as day went on:).....turned last straggler ewes + lambs out + empties marked......zeus (K's icelandic tup) had got out of barn...he wandered past me nonchalantly when i arrived and nibbled some grass by the pigeon loft:rolleyes:.....we took him upto the stalag to get K outta muddle...what could possibly go wrong:rolleyes:

had two deliveries.....drainage pipe for strawbs car park....'what an idyllic spot' commented the driver:).......clipex fencing also arrived(y)

afternoon washed out the sprayer ibc....put sprayer on and looked it over....seems ok(y)

today
felt better:)......further cheered up by finding two freshly lambed ewes...single.....plus old girl in prolapse harness....she'd had one and i helped second....first lamb was wandering off though:rolleyes:.....fortunately some near by hurdles enabled to pen her up:)

chores done it was time to to take admiral to centre for a bath.....she actually admitted feeling better afterwards:)

back home i put trailer on and went to get the old ewe....i think she+lambs need an eye...couldn't draw any milk but lambs didn't want any artificial so they coulda stripped her out already.....had 10 lambs this week which helps my figures

lunch

sprayed off the hectare of old beet ground thats going to be maize...perfect doing(y).....maize seed arrived (y) hopefully weather will be more settled in a week:rolleyes:

did a little work on a 'contraption' that you may/may not see in action,,,,depending if it works :bag:😁

had better weekends

saturday was bit non descript.....usual chores but K and i managed last strand of barb on first section of toaster replacement and took down the leccy fence....150m done(y).....400m to go:rolleyes:

pigeon boss popped over for some corn and got me to reset a race timer...we were mardling just as riding school turnover.....'i don't fit in here' he laughed watching the mercs and 4x4s fill the yard...'neither do i ' i replied😁

sunday

the admiral had been complaining of a sore hip for a coupla days.....today she could hardly move....she still came round the sheep....we lost an orphan and the prolapse ewe seems milkless for her twins but otherwise the flock is in tremendous shape ....the new sown grass looks good and the spring barley rallied really well....spreading out prostrate ,to compensate for probably a mean seedrate, before starting to grow upwards...there in though lies parta the problem...i've been making sure everything is right outside but been neglecting the admiral and her quarters....in slight defence she hates me doing stuff inside and neglects herself....forever chiviying me about farm stuff to divert my questions about matters domestic ......the peasant yeoman way i suppose.....different attitudes that are alien to most of the population...me guilty of turning a 'blind eye'

anyhoo i've set to but it'll take me quite alot of time/ effort to catch up....i fret about whats to come...will she get mobile again?.....what will i have to do?....the uncertainty frightening:(

Poor old H192,it often seems it doesn't take much for them to carc but the flip side of that is that just by us going out and doing it all again saves countless others without us even knowing!! Keep up the good work spin!

monday/tuesday

two tough old days.....K held the 'fort' monday....i went round main flock today....nice to get out/about in sunshine:)..found freshly lambed single :) .....moved orphans about and started taking feed barrier apart in our 'big hut'

not much farm work in truth as i've been looking after/fettlin the admiral.....she fell outta bed last night but didn't realise ....in pain and me not sure ..i called an ambulance.....they arrived really quickly:oops:...i know someone who fell over in norwich had to wait 6 hours....anyway they checked her out and pronounced her ok.....talk to gp later....back in bed she slept most of the day.....by 5pm the pain had gone:oops:(y)......finally a bit of better news....tucked + bed guard tonight...i'm fairly pooped to say the least.... my mood all over the place in truth:rolleyes:

even in adversity there can be funny moments.....i was under the sink monday extracting a teabag blockage......at least i hope it was a tea bag😭......anyhoo....i hear admiral phoning GP.....in her best 'to the manor born' the gist was ' AH good morning doctor....we're farmers locally and i think i may have jarred my back whilst inspecting our hurdlers on the atv yesterday....i think i need an x ray....be a good fellow and send an ambulance'...i hit my head trying to react....a spurt on inglorious water up my sleeve and i gave up trying to intervene:rolleyes:

Hard to provide the best smiley in this situation, Clive needs to provide us with more selection and the ability to give a different one to various parts of your posts, only for what you post obviously, seeing as you are a special case 🙄😆. Hope you are coping, you know you can talk to all of us if needs be, we are like resident counsellors 😂. Keep up the good work and hopefully the Admiral stays where she should of a night now! Bon courage!
